ZBGIS Map Client web application

Project:ZBGIS Map Client web application
User:Office of Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre of the Slovak Republic (ÚGKK), Geodetic and Cartographic Institute (GKÚ)
Implementation date:since 2009

Zymestic has created the ZBGIS Map Client for its partners to make reference data and information from the Basic Database for Geographic Information System available. In other words, it is the completion of an accurate digital map of Slovakia, including various spatial and topographical data, and the subsequent provision of information from this system.

ZBGIS (Basic Data Base for Geographical Information System) forms the basis for spatial information on the territory of the Slovak Republic as defined by law. It is part of the information system (IS) of geodesy, cartography and cadastre. It is a binding system for the creation of state mapping works and for the construction of public administration GIS. It consists of data and metadata about spatial landscape objects, their attributes and relationships. Access to ZBGIS products and services is via the Geoportal.

The ZBGIS Map Client web application is used for display, search, analysis and interactive work with digital cadastral data, ZBGIS data, address register, geodetic reference points, raster maps from the archive, digital terrain model and geographical names. The integration of data from all these sources into a single unit allows to obtain comprehensive information about the territory in terms of ownership relations and topography. The application is available to individuals and legal entities in a version for desktop computers and mobile devices regardless of the type of operating system and without the need to install additional modules (plug-ins) in the web browser.

Requirements

  • Creation of a map client web application – a tool for display, search and analysis of spatial data and map services.
  • To provide users with the greatest possible comfort when working with data.
  • Integrate the system with different data stores.
  • Build the application on open services and application interfaces that allow easy extensibility and customization of requirements not only in terms of functionality but also performance.

Results and benefits

  • Creation of more than 100 mapping and geoprocessing services. Publishing services in WMS, WFS, WMTS, WCS formats.
  • Creation of the Meta-information System application, which in accordance with ISO standards, respectively OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium), INSPIRE directive, but also with the NIPI (National Infrastructure for Spatial Information) Act, provides the possibility of searching and viewing metadata records of spatial data and map services of ZBGIS and ESKN.
  • Creation of a web application for authorized transformation of coordinate points between selected geodetic reference systems (GRS).
  • Creating a web application for converting selected spatial data file formats.
  • Creation of the List of Buildings (ISZS) – a system for registering building approval decisions and basic data on buildings and apartments, which automatically updates the data through the services of the Real Estate Cadastre and the Address Register.
  • Integration into the departmental Portal of products and services for electronic ordering of data and services of the Department of Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre.
  • Optimization of the application for mobile devices, device localization using global navigation satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, etc.).
  • Maintenance of the spatial geodatabase ZBGIS covering the entire territory of the Slovak Republic in the S-JTSK coordinate system, in the valid version JTSK03 (EPSG code:8353), with the Baltic height system after alignment – Bpv (H) (EPSG code:8357).

Technologies used

  • Front-End
  • ArcGIS API for JavaScript
  • Angular
  • Back-End
  • .NET
  • Integration with external services – Oracle, Elasticsearch
